Throughout the process of being a Thompson Rivers University student, I was able to gain many different skills and make many different connections to students and professors. This muti-year engagement process has been very informative towards what I am looking towards doing as a future career. As these answers throughout the years have varied with different perspectives and influences, as I come to an end of my post-secondary career, I am in the midst of putting together the pieces and skills I have learned to find a career path fit for me.
Journalism, Communications and Business Law have taught me many lifelong, useful skills that I am proud to say I will not forget. Luckily through studying and conversing with my professors, I learned that many of the skills I have picked up on in class are very versatile. The skill of writing is not only very enjoyable to me, but taking Journalism will help me reach my goals for the future.
Future Goals
For my future beyond TRU, I see myself stepping into UBC’s Public Policy and Global Affairs Masters program, where I can dip my feet into a new program of learning more research methods, getting to understand policy analysis and building a repertoire of global governance skills.
